creating opportunities while overcoming challenges with minimal disruption
One of the largest seismic school upgrades in BC, Delta Secondary overcame challenges resulting in a modern upgrade to a vital building within the community. Despite encompassing over 13 separate areas over a 2-year construction period, staff and students continued learning with minimal disruption during construction due to precise and strategic phasing. Integrated with school use, the revitalized and refreshed Genesis Community Theatre and stage gathers community. Close collaboration with the landscape department created integrated indoor/outdoor spaces with flexibility for varied learning environments. Spaces were opened up with the updated front entry and Block 4 entrance building addition opening to the plaza, and new interior architecture for the Library to encourage opportunities for individual and collaborative learning.
