Your Opportunity

Use your keen eye for detail to ensure what is constructed conforms to code, architectural drawings and contracts. Coordinate changes, review shop drawings, lead site meetings, perform site reviews and coordinate with the project team to ensure a smooth-running project in the construction phase to ensure conformity. Your Responsibilities

  • Monitor construction progress at project locations and ensure design & quality standards are maintained.
  • Produce timely field reviews as projects progress.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and contractors to identify solutions when issues arise.
  • Review and mark up shop drawings.
  • Review of progress claims and additional contract administration documents.
  • Coordinate changes with the client, consultants, and contractor, and issue required documentation.
  • Attend and/or chair project site meetings.
  • Travel to project locations across the province.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities.
  • Contribute to SOA’s team culture, and model our core values to our team, clients, and the public.

Your Capabilities

  • Excellent knowledge of the BC Building Code and its application to construction projects.
  • Proficient in reviewing shop drawings and processing construction administration documents.
  • Maintain a professional manner while liaising with clients and contractors.
  • Organized, able to work well independently, flexible.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills; can prioritize, multi-task, and work independently.
  • Excellent English written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Lifelong learner.

Your Credentials

  • Bachelor of Architectural Science, or equivalent preferred. Architectural and Building Technology Diploma considered.
  • 5+ years experience with BC construction methods and projects.
  • Fire-stopping procedures certification.
  • Valid BC drivers’ license, own vehicle and ability to drive throughout BC (travel expenses reimbursed).
  • Bonus points: Experience using Revit and project management software.

We are open to discuss options for a full-time position based out of Chilliwack, or a remote contract position in the Interior or Northern BC. Team members are offered a competitive salary including full extended health & dental benefits all paid by SOA, 37.5-hour work week, Friday afternoons off in summer, continuing education, team events, and travel expenses reimbursed.

Starting salary: $85,000
