a dual-purpose building repurposing a piece of city history
mixed-use project in the heart of historic downtown chilliwack
With support from BC Housing, this mixed-use project in the centre of downtown Chilliwack adds another element to the revitalization in the area. The first floor and half of the second floor have offices, classroom and other services spaces for Chilliwack Community Services, with potential for commercial retail space. The remaining half of the second floor, plus floors 3-6 will house subsidized multi-family residential apartment units, with financial support from BC Housing.
This project in Historic Downtown Chilliwack is named after the iconic Paramount Theatre that used to be located on the site and was demolished in 2013. The complex is the new home to Chilliwack Community Services along with 4 floors of affordable housing for seniors. This intergenerational affordable housing development, the first of its kind in BC, also provides housing for youth formerly in care. SOA is proud to help shape the new face of downtown Chilliwack.
